Kiln Unload = Christmas PresentsPulling blue pots from the wood kiln still makes me giggle...yes I'm that person. Take a close look at that electric blue on the berry bowl I'm holding. It's amazing how different a glaze looks depending on the clay body. My onion jar on the left is a blue glaze on a white stoneware versus the berry bowl in the middle has the same blue glaze on porcelain.
The last image is of Amy holding up some of her mini plates with no glaze on them at all. "Looking Into The Woodfire Community | Denise Joyal, Chris Landers, Lisa York, Tim Sherman | Episode 413"#ThrowbackThursday We were interviewed by Paul Blais at NCECA Pittsburgh, back in 2018, after having our first Room Show. The Room Show was a pottery sale that Denise and I organized with invited artists Chris Landers, Tim Sherman, and Troy Bungart. To quote Paul "So [the room show] was going to be the point of the conversation. As we got into this we ended up spending a significant amount of time talking about what it is like being a part of the woodfire pottery community." Enjoy tuning into this episode and the other 500 plus pottery interview episodes on The Potter's Cast.

I'm moving.
As I get ready to move from Lyndon, IL to Milwaukee, WI I'm hosting a moving sale. Since I live relatively remote, I thought it would be easier to reach you all using my etsy store . I have everything listed in my store for 15% off. I would much rather ship these functional ceramics to you directly, than pack and move them to Wisconsin. Since I am in a bit of a hurry packing up my studio, this sale will run through Easter. Looking forward to sharing my experiences as I set up shop in Milwaukee.
