Sometimes I feel like a giddy little kid... My husband picked out this Lisa York Arts mug, and took it straight from a kiln unload to work. He brought his mug home this week and I feel like the kid who had toys hidden from them and are so excited to be reunited with a toy...but rather it’s me reunited with my awesome tiny mug. Also, look at how great this handmade cup and bowl combo is. Cheers to handmade pottery and tiny mug lovers.

Allee Etheridge Shares her love of coffee, and the memory of buying her Lisa York mug while at her art residency in Las Vegas.
She says her mug reminds her "both of the neon lights of Vegas strip as well as the colors of the Nevada dessert" and that"it's a good size...important for her ability to drink inhuman amount of coffee every single day...and used it every single for the entire summer she was there [Vegas]."

My friend Andrew Linderman shares a memory behind his S. C. Rolf cup.

 "
I can remember at least one story that accompanies each of the handmade pots that we own. Whether it’s a story about the artist, what I was doing when I got the piece, or a memory of a time that I’ve used the piece. These fond memories slowly add layers of sentiment and attachment to the pots. As a craftsperson and artist, I hope that my work is also used on a regular basis, so it too can become a thread woven into the tapestry of its user’s life." -Andrew Linderman

Hey there, I'm starting this new series Share a Pot and a Memory. Ps. This is a call to all pottery lovers that I am looking to share a story from you about a pot in your pottery collection. My pottery collection is full of stories, and I often say I feel like I am eating and drinking with friends, when I am not using a piece I had made myself.

Nicaraguan Carved Vase

To kick the series off I am sharing a memory about how I got this pot while volunteering with Potters for Peace in Nicaragua.
