One of the best places to vacation in the USA. Little Traverse Bay is more about beach time than actual hiking. And I might be a little prejudiced in thinking Petoskey is one of the best places to vacation in the USA, because with a few exceptions I have come up here every summer my whole life. Northern Michigan in general is one of the best kept secrets as Lake Michigan's water is so blue and turquoise, and the skies are always changing and beautiful.
Mug Adventures: Pine Knob Mountain Loop, Housatonic Meadows State Park, Connecticut Pine Knob Mountain loop via Appalachian trail. It's a 2.7 mile loop with only 700ft elevation gain that provides some fabulous views of the Housatonic Meadows.
Rugged shores on Lake Superior in route to Montreal Falls. Be pre-warned the trail head is pretty remote, and the roads get fairly rugged. We ended up parking before the trail head as the roads were muddy, and we did not want to get stuck without cell service. With that said my favorite part of the hike was actually the rugged lake superior shoreline we hike along on the way out to the waterfalls.

Mug Adventures: Bass Harbor in Acadia National Park, Maine
If you are looking for a good date night or way to wrap up an evening in Acadia National Park I highly recommend stopping at Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound to grab some seafood. Then keep heading south to the Bass Harbor Light House where you can walk down a .2 long trail sit on some rocks and watch the sunset.
