I'm featured in Redfin's article "22 Unique Ways to Bring Texture into Your Apartment"In this article they have a compiled a list of ideas of how to "bring texture" and in many cases artwork into your apartment. Under idea number 17 "Curate a collection of pottery pieces" they feature my interview idea of “My favorite kitchen trend is open shelving for displaying your functional pottery collection rather than their being hidden behind kitchen cupboards. I also like to incorporate storage containers such as a garlic jar, a bowl filled with your favorite fruits, and a vase filled with fresh flowers. The kitchen is the heart of the home and where so many meaningful conversations revolve around the act of eating and drinking.” Click the link below to read the entire article.

Red Lodge Clay Center's Artist-in-Residence the Month of April![]() I'm super excited to announce my month long art residency at Red Lodge Clay Center the month of April. I'm finally starting to sit down with my sketch book to being drawings some ideas for future ceramic + wood combo pieces. My two favorite things about participating in art residencies are: getting to work along side other artists (especially now that I have a solo pottery practice) and setting intentions for new work. Those parameters for new work could look like new clay materials, making processes, or goals for a specific body of work. As of right now I have the intentions of exploring more sculptural ideas for ceramic and wood combo ideas. Stay tuned for behind the scenes look at my art residency in April. Hopefully I will have some new Mug Adventures to share as well as I will be in the beautiful countryside of Montana! Want to support me in my creative endeavors with this Red lodge Art Residency?

"Looking Into The Woodfire Community | Denise Joyal, Chris Landers, Lisa York, Tim Sherman | Episode 413"![]() #ThrowbackThursday We were interviewed by Paul Blais at NCECA Pittsburgh, back in 2018, after having our first Room Show. The Room Show was a pottery sale that Denise and I organized with invited artists Chris Landers, Tim Sherman, and Troy Bungart. To quote Paul "So [the room show] was going to be the point of the conversation. As we got into this we ended up spending a significant amount of time talking about what it is like being a part of the woodfire pottery community." Enjoy tuning into this episode and the other 500 plus pottery interview episodes on The Potter's Cast.
