Mug Adventures: Little Traverse Bay, Petoskey, Michigan

One of the best places to vacation in the USA.

Little Traverse Bay is more about beach time than actual hiking. And I might be a little prejudiced in thinking Petoskey is one of the best places to vacation in the USA, because with a few exceptions I have come up here every summer my whole life. Northern Michigan in general is one of the best kept secrets as Lake Michigan's water is so blue and turquoise, and the skies are always changing and beautiful.

In addition to watching the beautiful water, clouds, storms...my next favorite part is the rocky beaches. Petoskey, Little Traverse Bay beaches are full of fossilized stones. Petoskey, and Charlevoix Stones are only found on Lake Michigan and they are fossilized rugose coral. Another perk is that on this side of lake Michigan you get to enjoy sunsets over than water rather than having to wake up early for sunrises.
