Sometimes I feel like a giddy little kid... My husband picked out this Lisa York Arts mug, and took it straight from a kiln unload to work. He brought his mug home this week and I feel like the kid who had toys hidden from them and are so excited to be reunited with a toy...but rather it’s me reunited with my awesome tiny mug. Also, look at how great this handmade cup and bowl combo is. Cheers to handmade pottery and tiny mug lovers. |

Organic Wood Carving
Step 1:
I draw a bunch of different ideas of wooden piece I could make. The drawings vary in scale, proportion, style. Eventually I trust my gut on what one feels right to me.
I picked the largest drawing I drew in sharpie to be my goal for my wooden piece I will make.

Latest update of converting my basement into a ceramic studio.
My basement studio officially feels cozy and enjoyable to work in! It is literally cozier with the addition of insulation the basement stays a lot warmer, and visually cozier with the warm hues of the wooden walls. I am still figuring the layout of my studio, and need to build more furniture but it's mostly done. The time to put up these walls was almost month, and well worth the disruption in studio time. Now to add some more shop lights for these long dark Milwaukee winter days. |
My favorite part of the basement remodel so far is my deep window sills that I am already starting to fill with plants. I'll be sharing more photos soon of this basement slowly turning into a functional studio space. To see how different the my studio is from the last update click the button below. |
